She primarily uses visual arts and poetry as her form of art expressions, but is also well experienced with other art disciplines from writing, music, theater, to dance movement.
She can help you discover for yourself the creative being within you!
Early on, Maria studied Business Administration at community colleges and earned her Associate of Science degree in Business Administration from Grossmont Community College in 2006. However, it was not until she pursued her interest in the ARTS that she was finally able to find the outlet to express herself, as well as bring awareness to issues that were important to her, then earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual and Performing Arts from the California State University of San Marcos in 2008.
Maria knows that it is sometimes difficult to engage in a creative act, but through her support, patience, kindness and understanding, she can help you release the creative soul within you that has been there all along!
Maria believes that the ARTS can help us be empowered, transform, and has the ability to help us heal ourselves and communities. She furthered her knowledge in this by pursuing her Master of Arts degree in Expressive Arts Coaching and Consulting from the European Graduate School in Saas, Fee, Switzerland. She undertook rigorous intensive trainings and summer classes both in the United States, Switzerland, and beyond, and learned directly from Expressive Arts Therapists and Practitioners and world-renowned founders in the field of Intermodal Expressive Arts Therapy. In 2021, Maria earned her Master of Arts degree in Expressive Arts Coaching and Consulting with a concentration in Education from the European Graduate School (EGS).
With her experience and education, Maria has the credential and gained advance knowledge of using the ARTS and healing, expressive arts, and further becoming a better expressive arts practitioner and coach. Maria can guide you through that feeling of being stuck and opening up to your imagination where the journey to self-discovery and healing starts!
Maria continues to advance her knowledge by participating in different expressive arts workshops from around the world, and facilitating expressive arts. She also undergoes Expressive Arts supervision from a senior and well experienced Registered Expressive Arts Therapist for her private practice work.
